“ALL THE ANIMATIONS SEEN IN THIS VIDEO WERE CREATED IN CAMERA.

Using both praxinoscopes and the technique of matching up the frame rate of the spinning record to that of the camera, no computer super-imposing was used; what you see is what rolled off the camera. The transitions between each section of animation was created by simply cutting or wiping between the bits of footage.

All the animations were created, drawn and coloured by the director David Wilson.

Found a nice Vjing tool in the net:

“This machine can be used to play animations with gameboy music (it uses lsdj clock as a master).
.
What do all the knobs do? (left to right):
- The left knob sets the speed for the rotating plate.
- The strobe frequency, and the bike lamps light are set in sequence, recorded with the knob with the two push buttons below it.
- The cameras pan tilt servos, can be recorded in sequence, with the two knobs and the toggle switch below them.
- The next toggle switch sets the sequencer to 3/4 or 4/4.
- And the next toggle switch sets the sequencer to 32 or 64 or 128 steps if 4/4 is selected. Or 24 or 48 or 96 if 3/4 is selected.

Some of the animations are gif animations from the internet, but most of the animations were made with a gameboy camera, exported with a gb xchanger and converted into a circle with a php script i made. You can see some of the circles in the pictures below.”

Besoffen singt man leichter und wenn mans nüchtern auch noch witzig findet sollte man das Lied auch aufnehmen. Und wenns auch die Mama gut findet dreht man auch ein Video dazu. Dabei entstand unbeabsichtigt der Hit zum diesjährigen Sommer, ein potenzieller Schlachtgesang fürs Oktoberfest und eine Band die bei der nächsten Schlagerparade wohl die meisten Teddys mit nach Hause nehmen wird.

Da ich ja selber bekanntlich weder singen noch ein Instrument spielen kann, beschränkt sich mein Beitrag diesmal aufs Musikvideo in Instant 36 Manier.

Der Kulturverein LAMES (La Musique e Sun)  lädt zur Teilnahme an dem
Interdisizplinären Symposium Parque del Sol 09 ein.

Wir suchen Menschen und Projekte aus allen Bereichen der Kunst,
Wissenvermittlung, Forschung, Gartengestaltung, Handwerk, Kulinarik, usw.

Darüber hinaus  ist es möglich, die Durchführung des Symposiums auf
unterschiedlichste Weise zu unterstützen und zu partizipieren.

FREIRÄUME

NATURRAUM
Der Naturpark steht heuer im Mittelpunkt des künstlerischen Schaffens.
Die Bedrohung in den letzten Jahren durch ein Bauprojekt hat sich
vergangenen Herbst zugespitzt. Die aktuelle Situation des Naturparks
aber auch die Vergangenheit des Geländes (Industire,
Kleingartensiedlung, Flüchtlingsheim, Hasenstallung …) könnten
künstlerisch direkt im Park thematisiert werden.

MUSIKRAUM
Ein Raum für Musik, ausgestattet mit Anlage, Mischpult, Strom und zwei
Fenstern … Dieser Raum steht offen für diverse akustische Projekte.

LICHTRAUM
Mit Blick in den Hof und auf die Freiluftbühne bieten Visualraum den
perfekten Platz  Beamer-, Dia- oder Overheadprojektionnen. Als
Projektionsfläche dient die großflächige Fasade eines der beiden
Vereinshäuser.

BUBBLE
Die Bubble, eine riesige Blase aus Fallschirmleinen wird auch dieses
Jahr bei Parque del Sol zu Gast sein.
In der Bubble sind ruhigere Interventionen sowie Visuals möglich.

HAUS 81
In dem größeren der beiden Häuser laden wir ein gestalterisch Aktiv zu
werden.

ABLAUF DES SYMPOSIUMS
Die ersten 4 Tage des Symposiums stehen ganz im Zeichen kreativer
Prozesse. Interdisziplinäre Projekte sollen vor Ort entstehen und die
BesucherInnen inspirieren, sich in künstlerische Prozesse einzuklinken
und selbst kreativ zu werden. Am Wochenende werden die Ergebnisse des
“work in progress” einer breiten Öffentlichkeit präsentiert und von
einem Fest umrahmt.  Das gesamte 50.000 Quadratmeter große Gelände mit
seinen zwei charmanten Häusern wird zur Kunstbühne. In dem größeren der
beiden Häuser laden wir ein gestalterisch aktiv zu werden.

Einreichungen bitte mit einem kurzen Konzept, Kontaktdaten und
Material-, Ressourcen-, Aufwands-, Kosten-, Bedarfsangaben.

Umsetzung ihrer Projekte unterstützen werden, diese werden nun laufend

Übernachtungen sind im weitläufigen Naturpark, in eigenen oder
reservierten Zelten möglich.

Entstandene Kosten durch Anfahrt oder Materialaufwand können nach
Absprache zum Teil oder zur Gänze ersetzt werden.

next level of reality tv in france. their concept is somehow based on the milgram experiment: two candidates, one in a cage tied on a chair has to remember 27 word-combinations - the other one ask can ask for them, each mistake will be punished by an electroshock impulse starting at 20 volts up to maximum 480 v!!

Yesterday evening was definitely one of the inspiring one’s. I went to Point Blank in the Mousonturm with no idea what will happen, expect for some “clever use of software” in a performance. The performance was a girl talking, and showing photos:

“In Point Blank Edit Kaldor invites the 19-year-old Nada to present her large collection of photographs. For years she has been observing people, taking ’spy-photos’ of them, capturing their private moments. The core of Nada”s interest is to trace the various life-strategies that people follow. She wants to map out the options for herself. Driven by this curiosity, she becomes witness to a wide range of - at times excessive - human behaviour.
The performance is an occasion for Nada to structure and analyse her archive of possibilities. Together with the audience she contemplates the images, and looks for the implications and patterns that emerge. She aims to get a comprehensive overview and to reach a conclusion: the vision of a life worth pursuing.”

The combination of voyeurism (photos) and exhibitionism (her thoughts) was frightening and absorbing at the same time, Nada’s goal to find the set of rules for a lucky life is naive and lovely at the same time.
If you have the chance to see Point Blank, don’t miss it!

After 1,5 years of VJing, fair construction sites and writing diploma (!), my laptop keyboard urgently needed a cleanup. For remembering the positions of the keys I took photos.

I continued taking photos because I really enjoyed digging deeper in the basis of the number one man-machine interface - besides it really looks cool.

Unfortunately I broke my F12 key during the operation… but as I’m not a Mac user, I won’t cry.

hier kommt wieder einmal eine meiner seltenen musikempfehlungen (nicht aus mangel an guter musik, sondern auf grund massiver zeitnot): röyksopp – tricky tricky feat. karin dreijer (prelisten)

karin dreijer kennt sich mit zahlen (wie auch anders mit diesem namen) und vor allem mit musik gut aus, was sie bei „the knife“ ja schon häufig unter beweis gestellt hat. wer bei diesem hammertrack ruhig bleiben kann, dem ist wohl nicht zu helfen.
